The Engineering and Regulatory Compliance Department is responsible for overseeing the County's
Stormwater Management Program, regulatory compliance and engineering programs. This includes the County’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit activities and compliance, and developing and administering policies, procedures and fee schedules.
This department also administers the
Erosion and Sediment Control Ordinance, including issuing of land disturbing permits, supervision of erosion and sediment control inspection, review of erosion and sediment control plans for construction projects, inspection and enforcement. In addition, the department administers environmental compliance functions, including landfill post closure reporting and sampling requirements on County owned landfills.
The department also works with citizens and businesses to foster voluntary compliance with regulatory programs, and investigates and resolves citizen complaints.
Building Inspections, which ensures compliance with laws, ordinances and codes, is also part of this department.
