Building Inspections 

The Building Inspections Office enforces the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code within Montgomery County, Va. This includes plan review, permit issuance, and inspection of buildings and structures during the construction phase.

Building Inspections is committed to serving the public interest in building safety, health and welfare by advancing high, consistent standards of building practices.

Building inspectors inspect all construction in the unincorporated areas of Montgomery County. Use our online form to request an inspection. Inspections may also be scheduled by calling (540) 382-5750, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is best to call 36 hours in advance due to volume of work.

All Commercial Plans will require the completion of a third-party plan review prior to applying for a non-residential building permit application.
