How do I get a lifetime dog license?
Present dog’s original valid rabies vaccination certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian (required one time only) to purchase lifetime tag for $25, during regular business hours Monday-Friday, at:
- Montgomery County Treasurer’s Office, 755 Roanoke Street, Suite 1B, Christiansburg, VA 24073
- Montgomery County Animal Care & Adoption Center, 480 Cinnabar Road, Christiansburg, VA 24073
- Blacksburg Municipal Building, 300 South Main Street, Blacksburg, VA 24060
If purchasing by mail, send original valid rabies certificate and check or money order payable to:
Montgomery County Treasurer

Individual lifetime tag will be valid as long as rabies vaccination is up-to-date.
20-Dog Kennel Tag (must own 5 or more dogs to purchase)
$50 annually, an original valid rabies certificate for each dog in the kennel is required to be presented at time of purchase.
