Montgomery County launched OpenGov, a new online permitting system for building, zoning and land-disturbance applications, today, Jan. 5.
The OpenGov platform allows citizens to submit permit applications, upload supporting documents, make payments and track application status throughout the review process through a user-friendly online system.
To ensure access for all users, kiosks will be available at the Montgomery County Government Center. In addition, the county will offer in-person training sessions on the new software beginning in February 2026. Information about upcoming training opportunities will be announced soon. For questions about the training, email
mcplan@montgomerycountyva.gov.
County staff will also be available at the Montgomery County Government Center from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday to assist citizens with OpenGov submissions and to answer questions.
