Pursuant to the provisions of Section 15.2-2204 & 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on March 23, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the County Government Center, 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, Virginia, in order to hear citizen comments regarding the Board’s intention to act on the following Ordinance:
An Ordinance Adopting, Pursuant to Va. Code Section 15.2-2223, The “Montgomery Matters” Comprehensive Plan as The Comprehensive Plan for the County of Montgomery, Virginia. The “Montgomery Matters” Comprehensive Plan establishes a long-range policy framework to guide growth, development, capital improvements, and public decision making within Montgomery County over the next twenty years. The Proposed Plan includes goals, objectives, and implementation strategies addressing, but not limited to, the following areas: Land Use, Environmental Resources, Recreation, Historic and Cultural Preservation, Economic Development, Housing, Transportation, Health and Wellness, Public Infrastructure, and Public Safety and Welfare. “Montgomery Matters” is replacing, upon adoption, the current Comprehensive Plan, “Montgomery County 2025,” previously adopted by the Board of Supervisors on October 12, 2004, and Subsequently updated in 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2023.
