The Economic Development Department serves residents by carrying out the
Board of Supervisors’ vision and policies for economic development.
Its mission is to improve the
quality of life throughout Montgomery County, which includes the towns of Blacksburg and Christiansburg, by encouraging positive
economic growth that creates meaningful career opportunities, expands the commercial tax base to support the
delivery of vital public services and protects the County's enviable quality
